Post-match buses re-instated after MUST and Fans Forum campaigning
We’re very pleased to say that following many months of campaigning and discussions with TfGM, that the post-match buses back to Piccadilly Gardens are being reinstated with immediate effect and will run for every remaining home game of the season starting with Southampton on Thursday.
The buses will be run by TfGM as part of Bee Network and will line up on Chester Road, outside the Ford Garage, between Sir Matt Busby Way and Throstles Green. 15 buses will operate on a load and go basis, departing when full and then stopping at Deansgate Castlefield, Portland Street and Piccadilly Gardens.
Even better, because the service will be part of the wider Bee Network, fares will be lower than they were previously with an adult single at £2, £1 for under 16 and free for concessionary pass holders. In addition, all Bee Network ticket products can be used, including day, weekly tickets and the Hopper Ticket.
Big credit to TfGM for introducing this service so soon after taking over their new powers only just over a week ago. Hopefully the service will make getting away from the ground that bit easier for people, as well as benefitting the local community by reducing pressure on local roads, parking and other transport services.
